Choosing a wedding photographer is a big decision. I’ll be with you for some of the most emotional, joyful, and fast-paced moments of your day, so it’s only fair that you know exactly what to expect.
Here are the questions I get asked most often, answered honestly and with zero fluff!
How would you describe your photography style?
I describe my style as true to color, timeless, and warm.
I want your photos to feel just as beautiful years from now as they do today - not overly trendy, not heavily filtered, and not something you’ll look back on wondering “that was sooo 10 years ago".
My goal is for your photos to feel natural, elevated, and full of real emotion.
We’re awkward in front of the camera… help?
First of all - almost everyone says and thinks this!
My approach is mostly directed posing mixed with fun, easy prompts. I’ll guide you the entire time so you never feel stuck or unsure what to do. I also really believe in reading the room. Some couples love structure, others feel more natural with movement and prompts and I adjust in real time. I give feedback, hype you up, and let you know when something looks amazing (because it usually does).
How far in advance should we book?
You should reserve your date as soon as possible! Most couples book me 6–12 months in advance, especially for peak wedding season dates. I only take one wedding per day, so once a date is gone, it’s gone.
How do we officially reserve our wedding date?
Your date is officially secured once:
- A signed contract is completed
- A 25% retainer is paid
The retainer is non-refundable in most cases, as I’m turning away other inquiries for your date.
The remaining balance is due 30 days before your wedding.
Do your wedding packages include an engagement session?
Yes - every wedding package includes a complimentary engagement session.
I include this intentionally because I truly believe it makes the entire experience better. You’ll feel more confident, more relaxed, and more prepared by the time your wedding day arrives. Plus… you get beautiful photos from this season of life too.
Do you offer customizable wedding packages?
YES - and this is something I really love offering and that sets me apart from other photographers!
I don’t believe every couple fits into a cookie-cutter package. That’s why I offer fully customizable wedding packages, designed during a phone consultation. We’ll talk through:
- Your wedding day vision
- Coverage needs
- Timeline considerations
- What matters most to you
Most couples choose 8–9 hours of coverage, which usually allows for getting ready through golden hour - but we’ll build what works best for you.
How do we choose a location for our engagement session?
Engagement session locations are completely customized based on your preferences and vision.
If you already have ideas - amazing.
If you don’t - also amazing.
I’m always happy to send location ideas and recommendations based on the look you’re going for.
I also recommend scheduling your engagement session in a different season than your wedding to add variety and depth to your final galleries.
Will you help us with outfits?
Absolutely! If you want outfit guidance, I’m happy to give suggestions and help you feel confident and comfortable.
Do you help with wedding day timelines?
Yes - timeline assistance is included in your package!
During your phone consultation, we’ll talk through timeline planning and how photography fits into your day. I also send questionnaires, plan ahead, and build in timeline buffers to help things run smoothly.
Second shooters are included in my larger wedding packages to provide extra support. And when possible, I arrive early to do some location and light scouting before coverage begins.
How do you handle family photos efficiently?
Before your wedding, I’ll ask for a family photo list so you don’t have to worry about remembering combinations on the day-of.
We’ll move through family photos efficiently and calmly - no chaos, no guessing, no stress.
What happens if the timeline runs behind?
It happens - weddings are real life!
Because I build buffers into the timeline, we usually have flexibility. If extra coverage is needed, I do offer day-of additional coverage, which can be invoiced after the wedding if necessary.
When can I expect to receive my wedding gallery back?
Your full wedding gallery will be delivered within 6–8 weeks, depending on the season.
You’ll also receive a sneak peek shortly after your wedding so you don’t have to wait to relive the day.
Your images are delivered via a beautiful online gallery that you have full rights to. Feel free to share your gallery link with family and friends!
Do you have backup equipment?
Yes - always. I bring backup camera bodies, plenty of batteries, and extra memory cards so nothing is left to chance.
What if there’s an emergency and you can’t be there?
While this is unlikely, I’m prepared.
I have a strong network of trusted local photographers I can reach out to, and if your package includes a second shooter, they can step in as the main photographer if needed.
Will you retouch our bodies or change how we look?
No - and this one’s important to me.
I’ll edit for consistency, color, and small temporary distractions, but I won’t change body shapes or alter who you are.

Any advice for couples booking a photographer?
Don’t settle for a photographer you don’t genuinely connect with.
